About Promote Waipu
Promote Waipu (Waipu Business and Community Inc.) is a non-profit organisation dedicated to supporting and promoting the Waipu community. Led by a committee of passionate local business owners and residents, all funds raised through our activities are reinvested back into Waipu.
We organise and support a range of community events, including the popular Christmas Eve Street Parade, Street & Park Markets & Winter in Waipu. We also contribute to beautification projects and work closely with councils and government agencies to help make Waipu an even better place to live, work, and visit.
Whether you're interested in volunteering, becoming a business member, or joining our committee, we'd love you to be part of the Promote Waipu community.
Community
With a population of 3,000, Waipu welcomes visitors with its uniquely friendly, charming and laid back lifestyle. Come summer time, holiday-makers flock to Waipu to experience the iconic Kiwi beaches, cafes, restaurants and specialty shops… loving it just as much as we do!
Waipu is rich in Scottish history and plays host to many annual events including the New Year’s Day Highland Games and the Winter in Waipu Festival Month. It has a thriving events calendar with the ever popular Street Markets, Easter Carnival and famous Christmas Eve Street Parade which always draws a spectacular crowd.
